It’s been sort of an environment-awareness week for me personally the last week. I’d spent four days attending an Eco-camp held by students of Tzu Chi University in Taiwan (more on the camp later
). I’d also been working on a video project with two of my best friends.
The video is created for ADB MyView Micro Documentary Competition. The competition is held annually, with a different theme each year. This year, the theme is “Renewable Energy”.
I’ve never worked on making videos before, but I really enjoy creative work, especially when it involves delivering an important message.
Since the deadline for the competition was only a week away, I decided to ask two of my best friends to join in the project. The three of us are separated in so many ways (time and distance – we actually live in three different time zones -__-” ), but I secretly wanted to try out whether or not we could work together on stuff like this despite the distance. If we get to finish this, there’s no doubt we can try out other projects, and even involve more people.
I had so much fun doing this, brainstorming on what issue of renewable energy should we bring up and what best way to present it, secretly taking note of what are the key strengths of each of my best friends in this type of work, learning about video editing (first time laying my hands on Windows Movie Maker and Adobe Premier, LOL), and moreover, hoping so much that people would enjoy watching the movie while getting the message.
So here goes, my first ever video.
Please wish us luck, and handle your garbage more wisely.
- cheers to all -
